WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's golf team hosted 11 teams (10 schools) for the inaugural Crusader Invitational presented by CoveRisk held at the Worcester Country Club. The Holy Cross Purple team finished in third place overall with play concluding on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Junior Tess Breslin was the top finisher for the Crusaders coming in sixth place overall for the Holy Cross White team. She shot a 79 on day one and a 75 on the final day of play for a 154 (+14) performance.
After two rounds of the 36-hole course, the Holy Cross Purple team finished with a score of 627 (+67) as a team.
COACH'S CORNER:
- "The Crusader Invitational tournament at Worcester Country Club was outstanding in all respects. Though it opened over 124 years ago, this was the first collegiate tournament ever held at the club," said director of golf Steve Napoli. "Our women rose to the occasion and finished in third place. Five of our student-athletes recorded scores in the 70's today, with Tess Breslin and Julianna Megan leading the way with impressive 75's."
