HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Sophomore
Sophie Quinones claimed 23rd place as an individual, while the Holy Cross women's golf squad finished in sixth place as a team in the St. John's Invitational at the St. Andrew's Golf Club.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
• Quinones shot 82-81 to finish the tournament at 21-over par (163).
• Senior
Tess Breslin came in 28th, posting scores of 78-86 (164).
• Freshman
Lily Dessel earned a 31st place finish, shooting 82-84 (166).
• Rounding out the field for the Crusaders were sophomore
Sophia Cellura (33rd / 167), junior
Julianna Megan (33rd / 167) and senior
Caleigh Noonan (58th / 178).
• Lily Huynh of St. John's, Natalie Spiska of Quinnipiac and Katelynn Waclawski of Fairfield tied for first place as individuals at 12-over par (154).
TEAM SCORES:
• St. John's won the team championship with a two-round total of 630 (62-over par).
• Holy Cross finished with a team total of 664, placing ahead of Mount St. Mary's, Hofstra, Long Island, Siena, Providence and Wagner.
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders will return to action when they take part in the Patriot League Championship at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md., from April 17-19.
