WALLINGFORD, Conn. — The Holy Cross women's golf team competed at the Quinnipiac Classic held at the Farms Country Club. The team finished eighth place overall with play concluding on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Junior Kate Hong was Holy Cross's top finisher coming in a shared 13th place. She shot a 77 and 82 on day one and a 76 on the final day of play for a 235 (+19) performance.
After three rounds of the 54-hole course, the Crusaders finished with a score of 988 (+124) as a team.
COACH'S CORNER:
- "The Crusaders were led by the outstanding play of junior Kate Hong who fired rounds of 77, 82, 76 to finish T13. Kate's length proved beneficial on the hilly layout as she was able to manage her way around the golf course," said director of golf Steve Napoli. "The team battled hard for two days through difficult conditions and some of the most challenging greens we've seen this season. It was a learning experience for sure for the team and they will be better for it as they prepare for the Crusader Invitational next week."
UP NEXT:
- The Crusaders return to action from Oct. 21 through 22 to host the inaugural Crusader Invitational presented by CoveRisk at the Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Mass.
