WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior Josie Ascione was named to the 2023 Academic All-Patriot League women's rowing team, the conference office announced on Monday. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player.
 
Ascione was a member of the varsity eight in all eight spring races this season, helping the boat to first place grand finals finishes at the Jesuit Invitational and in the regatta against Manhattan, Marist and Fairfield, and first place petite finals finishes at the Murphy Cup, Colgate Regatta, and Patriot League Championship. A three-year captain, Ascione has competed with the varsity eight in every spring regatta in her career.
 
Ascione, who is a chemistry major, holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.94. This is her second time being named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
