WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Holy Cross men's tennis team was defeated by Army West Point 4-0 at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. The Crusaders fall to 4-6 on the season, while the Black Knights improve to 13-9 overall.
Army began the day by sweeping all three of the doubles matches to take the doubles point. The Black Knights then posted victories at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 singles, before the rest of the matches were stopped after the overall outcome had been determined. Holy Cross held second set leads in each of the three remaining matches, including junior
Connor Nelson who was up 5-2 and close to forcing a third set against Thomas Lake at No. 2.
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, March 25, when it remains in West Point, N.Y., to face Loyola (Md.) at 11:30 a.m.
