WEST POINT, N.Y. – After falling to Army 4-0 on Saturday, the Holy Cross men's tennis team had a roaring comeback 4-3 win versus Lafayette on Sunday in West Point, N.Y.
The victory pushes the Crusaders to 4-9 on the season and 1-2 in the Patriot League.
Freshman
Aayush Jhaveri had a key win at No. 4 singles to clinch the match for Holy Cross against Lafayette. Down one set and tied 3-3 in the second set, Jhaveri outscored his opponent 9-3 the rest of the way winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
LAFAYETTE DOUBLES PLAY:
- The Leopards had wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to earn the doubles point.
- Sophomore Ezequiel De la Plaza and junior Teddy Callery earned a 6-4 victory at No 2 doubles.
LAFAYETTE SINGLES ACTION:
- Holy Cross won at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles to take the match.
- De la Plaza and Callery moved to 2-0 in the matchup against Lafayette with De la Plaza winning 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1 and Callery winning 7-6, 6-4 at No. 3.
ARMY DOUBLES PLAY:
- Army had 6-2 and 6-2 decisions at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point.
ARMY SINGLES ACTION:
- The Black Knights completed the win with victories at No.3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

- The Crusaders head to Assumption (8-4, 5-0 NE10) on Wednesday, March 25 at 3 p.m.
