Women’s basketball hits the road to Army West Point Saturday

The Holy Cross women's basketball team plays their final regular season road game at Christl Arena against Army West Point Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The contest will stream live through ESPN3.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (19-8, 11-5 PL): 
  • The Crusaders snapped a three game losing streak with a 59-51 victory against Loyola (Md.) Wednesday evening. Freshman guard Kaitlyn Flanagan filled the box score with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, a block, and a steal while juniors Bronagh Power-Cassidy (15 points) and Cara McCormack (12 points) reached double-figures.
  • Over the last two games, Flanagan has averaged 7.0 assists per game. Holy Cross is 9-1 when Flanagan has four or more assists in a contest.
  • Holy Cross is 15-4 when Power-Cassidy reaches double digit points and 4-4 when she does not.
  • The Crusaders have six comeback victories when trailing by seven or more points this year. The Crusaders trailed by 13 points in third quarter against Lehigh (W, 66-64), 11 points to Connecticut College in the second quarter (W, 65-49), nine points to Stonehill (W, 74-62) in the third quarter, eight points to Colgate in the first quarter (W, 59-49), seven points to Massachusetts-Lowell (W, 62-57) in the first quarter and seven points to Loyola (Md.) (W, 59-51) in the third quarter.
  • Holy Cross has clinched a first round bye and Patriot League Quarterfinal Round home game which will be played on Monday, March 6, 2023. Fans can purchase tickets here.
SCOUTING THE BLACK KNIGHTS (12-14, 10-6 PL): 
  • Army's four game winning streak was snapped by regular season champion Boston University as they fell to the Terriers 77-70 Wednesday evening in Boston. Kamryn Hall scored a team-high 19 points with five rebounds and two steals while Lauren Lithgow added 17 points on 5-of-10 (50%) three-point shooting.
  • Army's Sabria Hunter and Reese Ericson have been honored by the Patriot League with weekly honors multiple times this season. Hunter was selected as the conference Player of the Week twice (Jan. 23 & Jan. 30) while Ericson has earned Rookie of the Week honors four times (Jan. 3, Jan. 23, Jan. 30 & Feb. 6).
  • Hunter is one of only two players in the conference to average a double-double with 14.1 points and 12.2 rebounds. Hunter ranks sixth in the NCAA in double-doubles (17), sixth in rebounds (318), seventh in rebounds per game (12.2), and eighth in defensive rebounds per game (8.2).
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • Holy Cross is 39-33 (.542) in the series history against Army West Point dating back to 1991.
  • Army earned a 74-66 victory in Worcester the last time out. Sabria Hunter double-doubled with 17 points and 13 rebounds while Reese Ericson added 18 markers in the win.
  • Holy Cross is 7-3 versus Army over their last 10 games.
  • The Crusaders are 17-19 (.472) away against the Black Knights.
