PAXTON, Mass. — Four players picked up wins in both singles and doubles action, as the Holy Cross men's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over Stonehill at the Paxton Tennis & Fitness Club. The Crusaders improve to 2-3 on the season with the win, while the Skyhawks fall to 6-4 overall.
Holy Cross began the day by winning two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Junior
William Kelleher and junior
Connor Nelson downed Christian Duffy and Mathias Langaard 6-4 at the No. 2 spot, while sophomore
Jeremy Clark and freshman
Patrick Ling defeated Nathaniel Graves and Mark Kroll 6-4 at No. 3.
The Crusaders went on to sweep all six singles matches to wrap up the day. Clark led the way with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over Mateo Mallen at No. 1, while Nelson defeated Duffy 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Other winners for Holy Cross were senior
Declan O'Flynn at No. 3 (6-2, 4-6, 6-3 over Langaard), Kelleher at No. 4 (6-1, 6-0 over Kroll), Ling at No. 5 (6-1, 6-2 over Guillaume Duhil de Benaze) and freshman
Camilo Illanes at No. 6 (7-6, 7-5 over Graves).
The Crusaders return to action on Sunday, March 5, when they travel to Princeton for a 4 p.m. match.
