Ross, Davis, Potter, earn Patriot League field hockey postseason awards

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Brooke Ross was named Patriot League Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-Patriot League, while seniors Haley Davis and Sarah Potter were named to the All-Patriot League Second Team, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Ross led the Patriot League in saves (140), shutouts per game (.176), save percentage (.805), and saves per game (8.24), and was fourth in the league in goals-against average (1.991). Nationally, Ross ranks second in saves per game and fifth in save percentage. A two-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week selection this season, Ross becomes just the third Crusader to win Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year (Erin Singleton, Marcia LaPlante), and the first since 2016.

Davis started all 17 games for the Crusaders this season and leads the nation in defensive saves for the second consecutive year, matching her 2022 total with 12. She recorded career highs in goals (3), assists (1), points (7), and penalty stroke conversions (2) this season. In conference games, Davis averaged 0.83 defensive saves per game. A two-time defensive player of the week this season, this is Davis' first postseason recognition.

Potter recorded career highs in every category, posting nine goals and five assists for 23 points, including four game-winning goals. Potter picked up her first Patriot League weekly award this season when she recorded three goals and an assist in wins over Merrimack and Lehigh. Over the same week, Potter earned a National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention. This is Potter's first postseason recognition.

Holy Cross concluded its 2023 campaign with an overall record of 8-9 and a 2-4 mark in Patriot League play.
