WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior
Sarah Potter earned an honorable mention for the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 1-8, the NFHCA announced Wednesday morning.
Potter's seven points last week helped the Crusaders go a perfect 2-0, defeating Merrimack on Tuesday, and Patriot League rival Lehigh on Saturday.
In Tuesday's 6-1 win over Merrimack, Potter scored the first goal of the game in the first minute of play to give the Crusaders the early lead, before scoring again just after Merrimack scored their lone goal to shift the momentum back in the way of Holy Cross. In Saturday's 3-0 shutout of Lehigh, Potter picked up an assist on the opening score of the game, before picking up a goal in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter to extend the Crusaders' lead to 2-0.Â
Potter and the Crusaders return to action on Friday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. when they welcome Colgate to the Hart Turf Field.
