Field hockey to open Patriot League play against Bucknell

The Holy Cross field hockey team will begin Patriot League play by hosting opponent Bucknell at the newly renovated Hart Turf Field on Sept. 17 at 11 a.m.
 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE CRUSADERS (1-5)
  • Senior defender Gabby Venezia has had a successful season so far, scoring her first collegiate goal in the game at UC Davis and a second against Vermont. She also earned a defensive save against Bryant on Sunday, Sept. 11.
  • Sophomore forward Meggan Fourie scored her first two goals of the season in the contest against Bryant. This marks the first multi-point game of her collegiate career.
  • Fourie also leads the team in points with two goals and one assist on the season.
 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE BISON (1-4)
  • The Bison are in their first season with new head coach Kelsey Kolojejchick. Kolojejchick comes to Bucknell after spending the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Harvard.
  • Bucknell currently leads the Patriot League in both goals scored per game (2.2) and goals allowed (3.4).
