The Holy Cross women's field hockey team will kick off the season with a trip to California on Friday, Aug. 26 to face Stanford on the Varsity Field Hockey Turf at noon and another matchup on Saturday, Aug. 27 against UC Davis at the Aggie Field Hockey Facility at noon.
 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE CRUSADERS (6-10 in 2021)

• Senior midfielder Sinead Walsh returns to the team after being named to the Preseason All-Patriot League team.
• Junior forward Sarah Potter and sophomore forward Meggan Fourie will also return to the team after 11 and 10-point seasons respectively.
• The Crusaders welcome five newcomers to the team: Kendall Blomquist, Julia Carrozza, Coley Leo, Megan Schienbein and Izzy van der Spuy.

 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE CARDINAL (4-9 in 2021)

• Stanford returns two All-America East selections and will welcome eight freshmen to the team.
• The Cardinal and the Crusaders are 1-1 all-time. In their most recent contest in 2008, Holy Cross emerged with a 2-1 victory.

 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE AGGIES (6-10 in 2021)

• The Aggies also had two All-America East team selections.
• This season will be head coach Austin Pile's first season with the team after his hiring in March of 2022.
• The Crusaders and the Aggies have only faced off once before in 2015 Holy Cross beat UC Davis 2-1.
