Women's track and field breaks school records at Patriot League Outdoor Championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Holy Cross women's track and field team broke several school records and earned sixth overall at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships hosted by Navy.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Junior Kate Ashley earned second place and a new school record in the 400m dash in a time of 56.17.
  • Junior Obiamaka Igwenagu also earned second place and a new school record in the triple jump with a mark of 12.02m.
  • Ashley, freshman Molly O'Connor, senior Ashley Thomas and freshman Ella Grey placed fourth in the 4x100m relay, completing the event in a time of 48.94.
  • Grey also earned sixth in the 100m hurdles in a time of 14.92.
  • Senior Kelsey O'Hara finished seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:14.99.
  • In the 4x400m relay, Thomas, senior Grace Hoelscher, freshman Haley Murphy and Ashley placed fifth in a time of 3:56.41.
  • Freshmen Allison Schneider (4256) and Jane Feeney (4236) earned sixth and eighth in the heptathlon

  • The Crusaders will return to competition at the New England Outdoor Championship on Friday, May 13.
