HELLERTOWN, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's golf team placed sixth at the Patriot League Championship, hosted from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1 at the Steel Club.

Junior Christian Emmerich placed fifth with a score of 218 (+2) over the three rounds, and earned All-Patriot League first team honors. Emmerich is only the ninth Holy Cross golfer to earn first team honors in school history, and the first since Steve Zychowski did so in 2011. 

Freshman Owen Egan finished in a tie for 10^th place, recording a score of 222 (+6) and earning All-Patriot League second team honors.

This is the first time since 2011 that Holy Cross has had two All-Patriot League honorees.

Senior John Bowen finished inside the top 20 in a tie for 16^th, recording a score of 224 (+8), and rounded out his Holy Cross career with one of his best rounds as a Crusader, with a score of 71 and hitting every fairway and green in regulation.

"As they have done throughout the year, Christian Emmerich, Owen Egan, and John Bowen played solid golf," said head coach Steve Napoli. "There's a tremendous amount of talent in the Patriot League and this is our highest finish at the League Championship since 2011. We thank our graduating seniors Collin Fitzpatrick, Jack Phelan and John Bowen for their contributions the past four years. We have an extremely talented class of freshman recruits arriving in the fall, and we have high hopes for future success."
