Women's track and field breaks three school records at Holy Cross Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's track and field team hosted the Holy Cross Invitational on Saturday, April 23 at the Hart Track where the team placed second and three school records were broken.

After the meet, the program celebrated their 18 seniors and their dedication to the team.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Senior Jordyn Shubrick broke another school record in throws with a mark of 55.20m in the hammer throw earning her fourth place.
  • Junior Obiamaka Igwenagu broke the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.98m to win the event.
  • Junior Kate Ashley broke the school record in the 400m in a time of 56.29, good for second place.
  • Shubrick earned a second place spot in the shot put with a mark of 12.69m.
  • Shubrick also earned fourth place in the discus with a mark of 30.19m.
  • Freshman Jane Feeney (5.51m) and Igwenagu (5.39m) earned third and fifth respectively in the long jump.
  • Feeney also participated in the triple jump with a mark of 11.04m, good for fourth place.
  • Freshman Allison Schneider placed third in the high jump with her mark of 1.65m.
  • Junior Annie Lineberger achieved yet another personal best in the pole vault with her mark of 3.93m to win the event.
  • Freshman Maura Switzer (3.50m) and sophomore Brenna McCormick (3.35m) placed fifth and sixth respectively in the pole vault.
  • Kate Ashley, freshman Molly O'Connor, senior Ashley Thomas and freshman Ella Grey earned third place in the 4x100m relay in a time of 48.27.
  • In a time of 15.05m, Grey earned fifth place in the 100m hurdles.
  • Senior Kelsey O'Hara won the 1500m in a time of 4:43.08. Senior Emily Koufos (4:44.09) and and junior Carly Robinson (4:47.63) placed second and fifth in the event.
  • Ashley Thomas earned fourth in the 400m in a time of 58.00.
  • Senior Grace Hoelscher took first in the 800m in a time of 2:14.17.
  • Freshman Haley Murphy placed fourth in the 400m hurdles with her time of 1:05.82.
  • O'Connor earned fourth in the 200m in a time of 25.64.
  • Junior Eve Feuerbach (17:30.99), senior Michaela Halloran (18:21.30) and freshman Caroline Gage earned second, fourth and fifth respectively in the 5000m.
  • In the 4x400m relay, Ashley Thomas, Grace Hoelscher, O'Hara and Kate Ashley placed second in a time of 3:55.12. Junior Kate Hoelscher, senior Emma Hayes, sophomore Kiley Ronan and Murphy earned sixth place in the event in a time of 4:06.96.
