The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home this week to face Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 7:00 p.m.. The game between the Crusaders and the Greyhounds will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Holy Cross enters the game with an overall record of 6-16 and a 4-6 mark in Patriot League play. The Crusaders had won three straight games before falling at Colgate (87-60) on Monday night. Holy Cross currently leads the Patriot League in blocked shots (4.0 blocks per game), while standing fourth in steals (6.4 steals per game).
Senior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 15.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while hitting 72.3 percent of his foul shots. Freshman guard
Kyrell Luc has also been playing well, with averages of 13.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore guard
Judson Martindale has averaged 9.4 points and 3.9 boards per game.
Loyola currently has an overall record of 13-10 on the season with a 7-5 mark in the Patriot League. The Greyhounds have dropped three of their last four games, including a 56-55 loss to Navy on Saturday. Junior guard Cam Spencer has led the team by averaging 18.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game, while making 86.7 percent of his free throws. Senior guard Jaylin Andrews has also been playing well, with averages of 14.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest.
After the game with Loyola, Holy Cross will travel to Bucknell for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, Feb. 12.
