The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play its third straight road game when it travels to Colgate for a 6:00 p.m. contest on Monday, Feb. 7. The game between the Crusaders and the Raiders will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Holy Cross is currently on a three-game winning streak, with victories over Lehigh (67-65 on Jan. 28), Boston University (75-70 on Jan. 31) and Army (69-65 on Feb. 5). The Crusaders now stand 6-15 overall this season and own a 4-5 mark in Patriot League play. Holy Cross leads the Patriot League in blocked shots (4.1 blocks per game), while standing fourth in steals (6.3 steals per game).
Senior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 15.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, while hitting 75.9 percent of his foul shots. Freshman guard
Kyrell Luc has also been playing well, with averages of 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore guard
Judson Martindale has averaged 9.6 points and 4.0 boards per game.
Colgate enters the game with an overall record of 11-11 and a 7-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Raiders have won seven of their last eight games and own a 6-1 record at home so far this season. Senior guard Nelly Cummings has led Colgate by averaging 15.7 points, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game, while hitting 42.6 percent of his shots from three-point range. Senior guard Jack Ferguson (12.1 points per game), senior forward Tucker Richardson (11.4 points per game) and junior forward Ryan Moffatt (10.3 points per game) are also scoring in double figures.
After the contest with Colgate, Holy Cross will return home to face Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 7:00 p.m.
