Crusaders set to duel Black Knights in West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Holy Cross women's basketball team ends their regular season away schedule on Saturday against Patriot League opponent Army West Point with tip-off slated for 1:00 p.m. at the Christl Arena. The contest will stream live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (18-9, 12-4 PL): 
  • The Crusaders took sole possession of first place in the Patriot League following a 62-55 win on the road at Colgate. Senior Avery LaBarbera recorded a double-double with a game-high 22 points and contest best 14 rebounds while sophomore Janelle Allen dropped 17 markers and secured eight rebounds in the victory.
  • For the sixth time this season, senior Avery LaBarbera was named Patriot League Honorable Mention the league offices announced Monday afternoon. LaBarbera averaged 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds with 6.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for Holy Cross.
  • Holy Cross holds a 17-2 record when holding opponents below 60 points. The Crusaders are 13-1 when having the lead at halftime and 14-1 when scoring 60 points or more.
SCOUTING THE BLACK KNIGHTS (15-11, 9-7 PL): 
  • The Black Knights suffered a 79-51 loss to Bucknell their last time out on Wednesday. Kamryn Hall led the way with a team-high 10 points to go with three rebounds while Sabria Hunter scored nine points, grabbed five rebounds, and came away with two steals.
  • Army paces the Patriot League in total rebounds with 41.5 boards per game, which is the 29th best mark in the nation. The Black Knights also rank second in the conference in scoring (63.3).
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • Holy Cross holds a 38-32 advantage in the series between the two programs which began back in 1991.
  • In the last meeting between the two programs on February 5 in Worcester, Holy Cross earned a 20 point, 74-54 win. The Crusaders handled Army's full court pressure while Janelle Allen had the best performance of her career scoring a personal-best 18 points on 5-for-9 (55.6%) shooting to go with eight rebounds and a perfect 8-for-8 (100%) free throw performance.
