Women’s basketball to face Dartmouth Sunday afternoon

The Holy Cross women's basketball team is looking to respond from their last loss by heading to nonconference opponent Dartmouth, Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. The contest will stream live through ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (3-2, 0-0 PL): 
  • Holy Cross hits the court following a 52-42 setback to Boston College on Wednesday. Holy Cross led by nine in the third quarter, however BC rallied and held the Crusaders field goal less through the final 8:15 of the contest. Sophomore Lindsay Berger matched a personal-high with 17 points shooting 8-of-12 (66.7%) from the floor.
  • Berger and freshman guard Kaitlyn Flanagan were named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday. Berger averaged a double-double, 15 points and 11.5 rebounds to go with 2.0 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game shooting 57.9% from the floor while Flanagan set career-highs in points (12), rebounds (5) and assists (4) against New Hampshire last week.
  • Berger has reached double-digits in three straight contests helping lead the Crusaders to a 2-1 mark in those games. She is averaging 15.7 points, and 9.7 rebounds per game shooting 61.3% (19-of-31) from the floor over the three game stretch.
  • Junior Bronagh Power-Cassidy needs only three more points for 500 in her collegiate career.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN (1-3, 0-0 IVY): 
  • Dartmouth broke a three game losing streak to start the season with a 68-65 win at home versus Merrimack on Nov. 16. Mia Curtis scored 18 points in 18 minutes of action including hitting the game winning three-pointer with less than five seconds remaining while Emma Koch snared a game-high 13 rebounds in the victory.
  • The Big Green, who finished the 2021-22 season at 3-23, 2-12 IVY were projected to finish seventh in the Ivy League Preseason Poll with 32 points.
  • Over the last three seasons, Dartmouth is 9-18 (.333) in the friendly confines of the Leede Arena.
  • The Big Green have struggled on the offensive end so far this season. They are ranked 308 of 349 Division I teams in scoring offense (55.8) and have no players averaging over double-digit points per game. Olivia Lawlor paces the team in scoring at 8.8 points per game.
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • The Crusaders are 6-10 (.375) in the series history against the Big Green dating back to 1978.
  • Holy Cross is 1-4 (.200) against Dartmouth over their last five meetings. Last year, the Crusaders rolled to a 77-49 win on Nov. 16 at the Hart Center. Bronagh Power-Cassidy scored 10 points in a starting role to go with four rebounds and four assists.
  • The Crusaders hold a 2-5 (.286) all-time mark on the road at Dartmouth. Their last win in New Hampshire was on January 3, 2013, a 64-52 decision.
