The Holy Cross men's basketball team will take part in the Tom Konchalski Classic from Nov. 19-22 at Rose Hill Gymnasium in the Bronx, N.Y. The Crusaders will open up play against Stonehill on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Holy Cross will then face Fordham on Monday, Nov. 21, at 7:00 p.m., before wrapping up the event against Illinois-Chicago on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 4:00 p.m.
Holy Cross stands 1-2 so far this year, defeating Dean (85-71) while falling to No. 10 Creighton (94-65) and Siena (75-68). Senior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 19.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game and connecting on 56.5 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Bo Montgomery has added 13.3 points, 5.0 boards and 2.0 assists per contest, while freshman guard
Will Batchelder is putting up 11.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
Fordham enters the weekend with a 2-1 overall record, coming off a 79-61 victory over New Hampshire on Tuesday night. Senior guard Darius Quisenberry leads the Rams by averaging 15.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game so far this year.
Illinois-Chicago stands 2-1 overall this season, after defeating Jacksonville State 67-60 in its last game on Monday night. Sophomore guard Jace Carter has led the Flames with averages of 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.
Stonehill has an overall record of 1-3 so far this year, following Tuesday's 100-76 loss at Providence. Senior forward Andrew Sims leads the Skyhawks by averaging 17.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, while hitting 60.0 percent of his field goal attempts.
Following the Tom Konchalski Classic, Holy Cross will return home to face Colby-Sawyer at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27.
