The Holy Cross men's basketball team will be back at home this weekend, playing host to Lehigh on Friday, Jan. 28, at 5:00 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Mountain Hawks will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
During the game, the Holy Cross coaching staff will take part in Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Week, a collaborative initiative of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society.
Holy Cross enters the weekend with an overall record of 3-15 and an 1-5 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have lost three straight and are coming off a 67-49 setback at American on Wednesday night. Holy Cross currently ranks third in the Patriot League in blocked shots (3.8 blocks per game), while standing fourth in steals (6.8 steals per game).
Senior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 15.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, while hitting 75.8 percent of his foul shots. Freshman guard
Kyrell Luc has also been playing well, with averages of 11.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore guard
Judson Martindale has averaged 9.9 points and 4.1 boards per game.
Lehigh currently has an overall record of 8-13 on the season, including a 6-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks are coming off an 84-71 victory over Army on Wednesday night. Junior guard Evan Taylor has led the team by averaging 14.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, while hitting 42.0 percent of his three-point attempts. Senior forward Jeameril Wilson has added 11.4 points and 4.9 boards per contest, with freshman guard Keith Higgins chipping in 9.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
After the contest with Lehigh, Holy Cross will travel to Boston University for a 7:00 p.m. game on Monday, Jan. 31.
