Field hockey hosts Colgate with Patriot League Tournament berth on the line

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross field hockey team will face Colgate in the regular season finale Sunday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at Hart Turf Field.

The Crusaders are still eligible to qualify for the postseason and would do so if they defeat Colgate and Lehigh loses to Boston University. The Mountain Hawk vs. Terrier matchup will begin Sunday at 1 p.m.

Holy Cross' game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Things to Know About the Crusaders (1-3, 1-3 PL):
  • Holy Cross is coming off its first victory of the season, a 2-1 win at Lehigh on April 4.
  • In the game against the Mountain Hawks, Rachel Perry scored her team-leading second goal of the season and Lily Watson picked up her first. Gabby Venezia assisted both scores.
  • Freshman Brooke Ross got her first start in goal and made eight saves to earn the victory.
  • On the season, Perry's four points lead the team with Kristen Weber in second with three points from one goal and one assist. Ross' .889 save percentage is a team high.
Things to Know About the Raiders (2-2, 2-2 PL):
  • Colgate started the season out 2-0, but has since lost two straight. The wins came against Bucknell, 2-1, and Holy Cross, 1-0, with losses coming against Boston University, 2-1, and in a second game against the Bison, 1-0.
  • Meghan Minturn leads the Raiders with two goals and four points. Ella Murphy has a team-high two assists.
  • Anna Unger has started all four games in goal for Colgate, posting a 1.01 goals against average and a .846 save percentage.
Last Time They Met:
  • Holy Cross and Colgate last matched up on March 21 in a game that the Raiders ended up winning, 1-0.
  • Minturn scored in just the third minute of action for Colgate in what would end up being the game-winning goal.
  • The Raiders held the advantage in shots, 16-14, but the Crusaders out earned them in corners, 11-5.
