Women's basketball heads to Colgate

The Holy Cross women's basketball team heads to Hamilton, N.Y. for a pair of contests at Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14. Tipoff both days is set for 1 p.m.

The games will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.

Pink Game:
  • Colgate will host its annual Pink Game and Play4Kay contest this Saturday.
Holy Cross (5-5, 5-5 Patriot League) at a Glance:
  • The Crusaders come off a split against Army on Feb. 6 and 7. Holy Cross won the opening contest at home, 61-49, before falling in Sunday's road contest by a score of 60-42.
  • Freshman Bronagh Power-Cassidy was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 9 after leading Holy Cross with a 15-point performance in the victory over the Black Knights. Junior Oluchi Ezemma also led the Crusaders in that win with her second double-double of the year, a 14-point, 10-rebound showing.
  • Power-Cassidy has been named the league's Rookie of the Week twice this season. She has started all 10 games this year and ranks second on the team in scoring this season, averaging 10.8 points per contest. She has reached double figures in five games this year.
  • Holy Cross continues to lead the Patriot League in offensive rebounding, averaging 13.0 per game. Ezemma ranks first in the league and 20th nationally with an average of 4.0 offensive rebounds per game; Ezemma also ranks fourth in the Patriot League with an average of 8.2 rebounds per contest.
Colgate (1-7, 1-7 Patriot League) at a Glance:
  • Colgate most recently played against Army on Jan. 30 and 31, with the Black Knights taking the victory in both games.
  • Jenna Paul led Colgate with an 18-point showing in the opening game; Keelah Dixon finished in double figures in both contests, with 13 points in the opener and 11 points in the second contest.
  • The Raiders' most recently scheduled series, set for Feb. 6 and 7 against Boston University, was postponed.
  • Raider guards Alexa Brodie and Katlyn Ghavidel rank second in the Patriot League in 3-point shooting, with a 50% success rate beyond the arc. Ghavidel averages 2.1 made threes per game, also ranking second in the league.
Last Time They Met:
  • Holy Cross won its first two contests this season against the Raiders on Jan. 16 and 17 in a pair of home games.
  • In the opening contest, Holy Cross rolled to a 77-48 victory. Five Crusaders finished in double figures – Ezemma, freshman Janelle Allen and junior Avery LaBarbera each had 14 points, Power-Cassidy finished with 13, and freshman Cara McCormack had 11 points.
  • Holy Cross came out with a close win the following day in a 63-62 result. Power-Cassidy hit the game-winning free throw with just three seconds remaining to lift Holy Cross (4-2) to its fourth straight victory; she finished the game with 16 points and a career-high eight rebounds.
