Women’s track & field competes at Alden Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Holy Cross women's track and field team competed at Brown University's Alden Invitational to kick off the 2021-22 indoor season on Saturday, Dec. 4.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

Jordyn Shubrick won the weight throw with a mark of 16.42m.
Obiamaka Igwenagu placed third in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 11.47m. She also took home sixth place in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 5.30m.
Annie Lineberger continued her form from last season, taking home first place in the pole vault with a leap of 3.87m, a new personal best.
Kelsey O'Hara ran a time of 5:15.12 in the one mile to place second.
Grace Hoelscher placed third in the 1,000 meter run in a time of 3:01.06.
In the 4x400 relay, Kate Ashley, Laura Turner, Helene Cummings and Milly O'Brien led the Crusaders to a second place finish in a time of 4:05.36.
Three Crusaders placed in the top five of the 500 meter dash with Ashley finishing second (1:19.19), Turner placing fourth (1:19.45) and Haley Murphy taking home fifth place (1:20.84).
Freshman Allison Schneider was fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.62m.
Freshman Molly O'Connor qualified for the finals of the 60m dash, clocking in at 8.07 seconds. She was additionally the team's top finisher in the 300m with a time of 42.78.
Senior Michaela Halloran placed fourth in the 5,000 meters, running a time of 18:54.43.
