Women’s basketball travels to Boston College

WORCESTER, Mass.— The Holy Cross women's basketball team will make the short trip to Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 12 for a 1 p.m. tip. The game will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (0-1, 0-0 PL):
  • The Crusaders are coming off of a tough season-opening loss to Northeastern, 71-45. Seniors Avery LaBarbera and Oluchi Ezemma led Holy Cross with 12 points each.
  • LaBarbera was named to the five-member Preseason All-Patriot League team following an All-Patriot League Second Team and All-Defensive team season in 2020-21. She currently sits 18 points shy of the 1,000 point threshold, when she reaches the milestone, she'll be the 35th Crusader in program history to hit 1,000 points.
  • Freshmen Lauren HuberGrace Munt and Lindsay Berger are the new additions to the 2021-22 squad. Huber and Munt will slot in as guards, while Berger will feature in the forwards group. All three made their season debuts against Northeastern.
  • Munt made her first career start against the Huskies and tallied three points, while Berger chipped in three points and Huber added on an assist.
  • Sophomore Steph Davis made her return from injury and appeared in her first game as a Crusader against the Huskies.
SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE (1-0, 0-0 ACC):
  • The Eagles opened their season with a 86-60 win over Harvard at home in Conte Forum.
  • Boston College returns all five starters from last season.
  • Taylor Soule recently became the 29th player to score 1,000 points in program history. Soule tallied 19 points to lead the Eagles against the Crimson.
  • The Eagles had three players score in double figures against Harvard, including Soule, Marnelle Garraud (13) and Cameron Swartz (10).
LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • The Crusaders are 10-30 all time against the Eagles, with the first meeting between the two schools coming during the 1978-79 season.
  • Holy Cross and Boston College last met during the 2019-20 season, with the Crusaders winning, 80-71. The win marked the Crusaders first win over a Power 5 school since 2014.
  • Then-sophomore LaBarbera tallied 16 points, while then-sophomore Ezemma pulled down 10 boards.
