Field hockey hosts Colgate

WORCESTER, Mass.— The Holy Cross field hockey team will return to Patriot League action when the Colgate Raiders come to Hart Turf Field on Friday, Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m.


The game against Colgate will serve as the Crusaders' annual ALS awareness game. The team will be raising money for the Peter Frates Family Foundation, all donations can be made here.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (4-6, 0-3 PL):
  • The Crusaders are looking to rebound after a 4-0 loss to Brown on Tuesday evening.
  • Senior Kerri Bolivar made a defensive save against Brown, marking the Crusaders second of the season after sophomore Meaghan Noone posted one against Bryant.
  • Junior Sinead Walsh leads Holy Cross with 10 points, off a team-high four assists and three goals.
  • There are four Crusaders who are scored three goals this season, all tying for the team lead, including Walsh, freshman Meggan Fourie, senior Caitlin Little and sophomore Sarah Potter.
  • Junior Emma Lauber and sophomore Brooke Ross have continued splittling time in goal. Both have posted a shutout in one game this season.
SCOUTING COLGATE (0-8, 0-2 PL):
  • The Raiders are still searching for their first win of the season. Colgate most recently fell to Cornell, 4-3.
  • Ella Corbett has a team-high three goals and seven points on the season. Three Raiders, Rachel Alderfer, Ella Murphy and Kali Williams are tied for the team lead with two assists.
  • In goal, Anna Unger has played every minute for Colgate and owns a .681 save percentage.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • The two teams met twice last season, each walking away with one win. Colgate took the first meeting, 1-0, and the Crusaders won the second meeting, 2-1.
  • Sophomore Allie McDonough and Little each scored in the, 2-1, victory.
  • The all-time series is all tied up at 18-18-1 between the two programs.
