The Holy Cross men's basketball returns home this weekend when it faces Lehigh in a pair of games. The Crusaders and the Mountain Hawks will meet at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex on both Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24, at 2:00 p.m. Both contests will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
The Crusaders stand 2-4 overall this year, after dropping two games at Colgate last weekend. Junior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 16.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while hitting 73.7 percent of his free throws. Senior guard
Austin Butler has added 15.0 points, 9.5 boards and 1.3 steals per contest, while senior forward
Matt Faw is chipping in with 14.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots per game.
Lehigh enters the week with an overall mark of 1-5. The Mountain Hawks have lost their last five games and were swept by Bucknell in a pair of contests last weekend. Senior guard Marques Wilson has led Lehigh by averaging 18.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. Junior center Nic Lynch is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 16.5 points, 6.8 boards and 1.0 blocks per contest.
The Crusaders and the Mountain Hawks have split the regular season series in each of the last two seasons. That includes a pair of overtime game at the Hart Center, in which each team won once after trailing by at least 17 points.
After the series with Lehigh, Holy Cross will face Boston University in a pair of games on Jan. 30 and 31.
