WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play at home for the fourth time in the last five games when it takes on Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 7:00 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Greyhounds will be televised live on NESNplus and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross stands 3-20 overall this season with a 2-8 mark against Patriot League opponents. The Crusaders have lost their last three games since posting a 96-95 overtime victory over Lehigh on Jan. 22.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 16.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, while hitting 55.8 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Austin Butler has added 12.0 points, 6.5 boards and 2.4 assists per contest, while junior forward
Connor Niego is chipping in with 9.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Loyola enters the game with an overall record of 10-13 and a 2-8 mark in Patriot League play. The Greyhounds had lost eight games in a row before defeating Navy 79-73 on Saturday.
Senior guard Andrew Kostecka has led the team by averaging 21.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, while hitting 50.0 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard Isaiah Hart has added 9.3 points and 3.3 assists per contest, with senior forward KaVaughn Scott putting up 8.4 points and 5.0 boards per game.
Following the contest with Loyola, Holy Cross will head to Boston University for a 1:00 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 8.
