Women's basketball to face American

The Holy Cross women's basketball team will face American on Saturday, Feb. 29 as the Patriot League regular season winds down. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. in Washington.

Things to Know About the Crusaders (16-11, 9-7 Patriot League):
  • Holy Cross held on for a 64-61 home victory over Army West Point on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
  • Sophomore Avery LaBarbera led the Crusaders in the win with 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
  • Senior Lauren Manis had a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds; she became the Patriot League's all-time leader in rebounds during the game, now owning a career total of 1,152 boards.
  • The 17-point showing marked Manis' 101st career game in double figures, tying Sherry Levin (1980-84) for the most career games in double-figure points in program history.
  • Manis has 56 career double-doubles, more than any active Division I player and two more than Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu. Manis currently ranks third among all active DI players in career rebounds and 10th in career points (1,952).
 
Things to Know About the Eagles (11-15, 7-9 Patriot League):
  • American enters Saturday's game off a 55-48 loss to Lafayette on Wednesday.
  • Jade Edwards led the Eagles in the loss with 22 points. This season, she has averaged 14.9 points per game, ranking fourth in the Patriot League.
  • Indeya Sanders averages 4.5 assists per game, third-most in the Patriot League.
  • The Eagles have the second-best free throw percentage in the Patriot League, shooting 74.2 percent from the charity stripe.
  • American has posted a 7-4 record in home games this season.
Last Time They Met:
  • The Crusaders took down American at home on Jan. 18 by a score of 72-59.
  • Manis tallied 22 points, 15 rebounds and a career-high six assists in the victory. LaBarbera had 18 points and five assists, while sophomore Oluchi Ezemma and senior Kathryn Pedi had nine points each.
  • Senior Madalyn Smith matched a career high with nine assists.
  • As a team, the Crusaders totaled a season-high 25 assists and drained 13 3-pointers.
