WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this weekend, heading to Colgate for a 2:00 p.m. game on Sunday, Feb. 23. The contest between the Crusaders and the Raiders will be shown live on the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
The Crusaders stand 3-25 overall this season with a 2-13 mark against Patriot League opponents. Holy Cross has lost its last eight games since posting a 96-95 overtime victory over Lehigh on Jan. 22.
Heading into the weekend, the Crusaders are in 10th place in the Patriot League standings. With three games left, Holy Cross will finish either ninth or 10th in the conference.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 17.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while hitting 56.8 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Austin Butler has added 12.0 points, 6.4 boards and 2.5 assists per contest, while junior forward
Connor Niego is chipping in with 9.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Colgate stands 21-7 overall this year with a 12-3 mark in Patriot League play. The Raiders have won five of their last six games, including a 70-67 victory over Lehigh on Wednesday.
Junior guard Jordan Burns has led the team by averaging 15.2 points, 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game, while hitting 79.5 percent of his free throws. Senior forward Rapolas Ivanauskas has put up 13.1 points and 7.5 boards per contest, while senior forward Will Rayman is contributing with 12.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.Â
Following the contest at Colgate, Holy Cross will travel to Army West Point for a 7:00 p.m. game on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
