WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home this weekend to face defending Patriot League champion Colgate in a 2:00 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 1. The contest between the Crusaders and the Raiders will be televised live to a national audience by the CBS Sports Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross stands 3-19 overall this season with a 2-7 mark against Patriot League opponents. The Crusaders have lost their last two games since posting a 96-95 overtime victory over Lehigh on Jan. 22.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 16.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while hitting 56.1 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Austin Butler has added 11.9 points, 6.4 boards and 2.4 assists per contest, while junior forward
Connor Niego is chipping in with 8.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Colgate stands 16-6 overall this year with a 7-2 mark in Patriot League play. The Raiders had won three straight games before falling to Lafayette 80-78 on Wednesday night.
Junior guard Jordan Burns has led the team by averaging 15.2 points, 4.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game, while hitting 82.4 percent of his free throws. Senior forward Rapolas Ivanauskas has put up 13.4 points and 7.5 boards per contest, while senior forward Will Rayman is contributing with 11.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.Â
Following the contest with Colgate, Holy Cross will remain at home to face Loyola (Md.) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
