WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this week, heading to Navy for a 7:00 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 29. The contest between the Crusaders and the Midshipmen will be televised live by Stadium and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross stands 3-18 overall this season with a 2-6 mark against Patriot League opponents. The Crusaders fell to Boston University 79-64 on Saturday, after posting a 96-95 overtime victory over Lehigh in their previous game.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 16.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while hitting 55.3 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Austin Butler has added 11.5 points, 6.5 boards and 2.4 assists per contest, while junior forward
Connor Niego is chipping in with 8.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Navy stands 11-8 overall this year with a 5-3 mark in Patriot League play. The Midshipmen had won three straight games before falling to Army West Point 73-66 on Saturday.Â
Junior guard Cam Davis has led the team by averaging 16.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, while hitting 38.7 percent of his three-point attempts. Sophomore guard John Carter has averaged 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest, while sophomore guard Greg Summers has put up 10.0 points and 6.8 boards per game.
Following the contest with Navy, Holy Cross will return home to play Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2:00 p.m.
