WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's soccer team defeated St. Francis Brooklyn, 4-0, Sunday afternoon to extend their unbeaten streak to five games as they head into Patriot League play.
The Crusaders got goals from four different players on the day. Olivia Ferrara scored her second of the year, while Kelly Crowley, Carly Flahive, and Lexi Ansaldi all notched their first strike of the season.
Ferrara put Holy Cross on the board in the eighth minute with a little help from Jenna Barnes. Then, 36 seconds later, Kelly Crowley sent a laser in from the right side that the Terriers' goalkeeper couldn't handle to make it 2-0. Crowley then got her third point of the game when she assisted Flahive in the 12th minute. Ansaldi capped the scoring in the 42nd minute when she ran on to a ball that was lifted perfectly over the St. Francis defense by Brooke Robinson and buried it in the bottom left corner.
