The Holy Cross women's basketball team continues nonconference action on Wednesday, Nov. 20 with a matchup against Bryant at 7 p.m. at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.
Wednesday's game will be broadcasted on the Patriot League Network, with Ben Altsher on the call and Steve Vecchione providing color commentary. The game can also be heard live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester, with Alex Vispoli calling the game.
In support of the Worcester Fire Department and fallen firefighter Lt. Jason Menard, Holy Cross is holding a
$5 for Ladder 5 ticket fundraiser. In honor of Lt. Menard and in support of his family, a special $10 ticket is available for the
Crusaders' home games all week, with $5 of each ticket donated directly to the Menard Children's Fund.
Things to Know About the Crusaders (1-1):
- Holy Cross comes off an impressive showing against Boston College on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in which the Crusaders upended the Eagles, 80-71, for their first win over a Power 5 team since 2014. After junior guard Jenay Faulkner made the Crusaders' first basket 38 seconds into the game, Holy Cross did not give up the lead at any point; Boston College was held without a field goal until the 3:34 mark of the first.
- Senior center Megan Swords led the way for Holy Cross, recording a career-high 21 points and 14 rebounds for her eighth career double-double. She earned Player of the Week honors from the Worcester-Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) for her performance.
- For the first time since 2016, Holy Cross had five players record double-figure points: Swords (21), Faulkner (16, also a career high), sophomore guard Avery LaBarbera (16), senior forward Lauren Manis (11) and senior guard Madalyn Smith (10).
- Through two games, all five of Holy Cross' starters are averaging double-digit points.
- Early in the season, the Crusaders lead the Patriot League in points per game (77.5), 3-point percentage (.378) and rebounds per game (49.5).
Things to Know About the Bulldogs (1-2):
- After winning its season opener over Brown, Bryant has fallen in its last two games, most recently dropping a 71-66 result at Vermont on Sunday, Nov. 17.
- Freshman Nicole Gallagher has impressed early for the Bulldogs, leading the team with an average of 12.7 points per game. She was named the Northeast Conference's Rookie of the Week for a 21-point performance at Vermont.
- Senior Sydney Holloway has averaged 11.7 rebounds and 9.7 points this year. A season ago, she averaged a double-double of 17.8 points and 11.2 rebounds.
- Bryant owns a rebounding margin of +8.3 with an average of 42.3 boards per game through three games this season.

- Holy Cross earned an 81-62 victory over the Bulldogs on Dec. 30, 2018.
- Manis had 22 points and eight rebounds, including six offensive boards. Swords recorded 13 rebounds and eight points, while LaBarbera had 13 points and eight rebounds.
- Holloway led Bryant in the loss with 26 points and 13 boards.
- Holy Cross out-rebounded the Bulldogs 51-34 in the contest.
