WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's tennis team defeated Connecticut College, 5-4, Sunday afternoon in Connecticut. The victory brings the Crusaders to 2-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Sophia Papa claimed a victory in NO. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
- Freshman Maddie DeNucci won her No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 6-0.
- Senior Morgan McGuire took No. 4 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
- McGuire and Papa teamed up to take the No. 2 doubles win, 8-5.
- Senior Jennifer Kary and DeNucci combined for the No. 3 doubles victory, 9-8(3).
- Kary also took her No. 5 singles match the distance, but fell short, 6-3, 2-6, 2-6.
- Seniors Caroline Kam and Allison Reiling competed in singles and doubles competition as well, but fell to their opposition.
