Devine makes program history at 2025 ITA New England Regional

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Freshman Phoebe Devine of the Holy Cross women's tennis team became the first student-athlete in program history to win a main draw match at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Regionals which was hosted by Harvard at the Beren Tennis Center.
 
SINGLES ACTION:
  • In the first round, Devine picked up a 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-1 victory over Flora Edison of Providence.
  • Devine advanced to the second round on Saturday and was downed 6-3, 6-3 by Ali Maguy of Brown.
  • Classmate, freshman Hannah Flynn participated in the qualifying draw and was bested 6-1, 6-1 by Cameron Didion of Connecticut.
CONSOLATION ROUND:
  • Flynn had to withdraw due to injury in the qualifying consolation bracket.
DOUBLES PLAY:
  • Devine and Flynn teamed up in doubles and battled Viktoria Lorentzon and Tessa Wachtel of Marist falling to their opponents 8-4.
NEXT UP:
  • Holy Cross returns to action for the Patriot League ITA Masters Qualifier from Oct. 24-26 in Bethlehem, Pa.
