WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to No. 24 Albany, 7-1, Tuesday evening. The game was the Crusaders' third matchup this season against a team ranked in the top 25 teams in the nation.
The Great Danes got out in front within the first minute and stayed there for the entirety of the game. Dana Bozek scored three goals on the day with two coming in the first half. Holy Cross would go into halftime down, 4-0.
The Crusaders got one back in the second half when seniors Suzanne Noone and Emily Loprete connected on a goal for Loprete's fourth of the season. But Albany would add three goals in the second half to claim the 7-1 victory.
The Crusaders are on the road again on Saturday when they travel to Patriot League rival Colgate for a 12:05 p.m. game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Albany outshot Holy Cross, 27-8.
