The Lead: Both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams downed Providence on Senior Day. This is the first time the Crusaders have defeated the Friars since 2008 for the men and 2010 for the women. 

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MEN:

  • On the men's side, junior Steve Tierney placed first in three events: 200 free (1:47.74), 100 free (49.00) and 100 fly (53.02). 
  • Freshman Kaikea Wilinski finished first in the 100 back with a finals time of 55.03.
  • In the 100 breast, senior Jake Sbarbaro finished first with a time of 1:00.81. Sbarbaro also placed first in the 200 breast (2:13.76).
  • Junior Kevin Lagassa finished first in the 50 free (22.43). 
  • In the 3m dive, Jimmy Nugent scored a 202.58 for a first place performance. In the 1m dive, Nugent placed first with a score of 233.85.
  • Freshman Nathan Kramer finished first in the 500 free (4:53.72) and first in the 200 IM (2:02.01).

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WOMEN:

  • On the women's side, junior Caroline Body took first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:09.75 and first in the 200 breast (2:34.57).
  • Freshman Brianna Larnard placed first in the 200 fly (2:21.34). Larnard also placed first in the 100 fly (1:00.17).
  • Senior Katie Conners captured first place in the 50 free with a time of (25.12) and in the 100 free (54.79). 
  • For the 1m dive, junior Casey Sherman scored a 242.25 to take first. 
  • Freshman Emily Sullivan placed first in the 200 back (2:12.47).
  • In the 400 free relay, freshman Isabella Miko-Rydzaj, sophomore Kayleigh Hoagland, senior Nina Sparre and Conners finished first with a time of (3:39.54).

SENIOR DAY:

Seventeen seniors were honored before the meet for their dedication to the program and school for the past four years. On the women's team, Elizabeth Buckley, Katie Conners, Kelley Kraemer, Rachel Marasco, Maura Mullaney, Carly Priest, Nine Sparre and Maeve Westover were celebrated. On the men's team, Rich Bielak, Nick Chevalier, Hayden Kucharski, Riccardo Marcangeli, Mark Mueller, Ethan Nightingale, Jimmy Nugent, Jake Sbarbaro and John Williams were celebrated.
