WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Zach Bubonovich placed first in both the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke, but the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Boston University 177-122 at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders open the season at 0-1, while the Terriers begin the year at 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Bubonovich won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 57.43 and the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:07.47.
• Freshman Cole Abril took first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.70.
• Senior Jack Greiner had a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:52.77.
• Freshman Andrew Villani came in first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.91.
• The Crusaders also won the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the team of sophomore Peter Mottolese, Greiner, junior Will Clark and Abril finishing in a time of 3:09.25.

UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Friday, Oct. 17, when it plays host to Bucknell at 4 p.m.
