WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Tessie Salatas recorded her sixth career shutout and notched 32 saves in a 2-0 victory against Harvard. Junior Julie Matthias scored both goals in the second period to lead the Crusaders past the Crimson. The 2-0 win over Harvard is the first Divison I victory for the Crusaders in program history.
"As far as being at Holy Cross for 30 years, this is the biggest win we have had for our program," said head coach Peter Van Buskirk on the 2-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
HC, 1-0 (2nd 2:23 PP): Matthias scored a power play goal two minutes into the second period from seniors Kara Violette and Emily Lissner to give the Crusaders the 1-0 lead. Lissner dropped a pass back to Matthias on the right side who took it to Harvard's Dutton and scored.
HC, 2-0 (2nd 4:10 EV): Violette found junior Maeve Reilly on the break who shot from the right side. Matthias was in the right spot to put the rebound back at Dutton and into the back of the net.
The Crusaders held onto the 2-0 lead for the rest of the second and third period and got the win.
TALKING POINTS:
Salatas had 32 saves against the Crimson and recorded her sixth shutout of her career.
Matthias scored her second power play goal of the season and has seven points total (3-4-7).
Violette leads the Crusaders in points (3-9-12) and tallies her fourth multi-point game of the season.
