Thomas-Waheed, Mifsud & Hourigan Earn 2015-16 Patriot League Awards

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross seniors Lisa Mifsud (Erie, Pa.) and Molly Hourigan (Memphis, N.Y.), as well as sophomore Infiniti Thomas-Waheed (Newton, Mass.) all were named to 2015-2016 All-Patriot League teams, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Thomas-Waheed was named second team All-Patriot League and also to the Patriot League All-Defensive team, while Mifsud joined her on the second team. Hourigan earned third team All-Patriot League laurels.

Thomas-Waheed has started in all 29 games this season and has averaged 12.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 steals, 1.9 assists and 0.8 blocks per contest, while hitting 76.4 percent of her free-throw attempts (68-89). Among Patriot League players, she stands second in steals per game (36th in NCAA), seventh in free-throw percentage, 10th in blocks per game and 18th in rebounds per contest.

This season, Thomas-Waheed has led Holy Cross in steals 18 times, while she has been the top scorer for the Crusaders in 11 contests in 2015-2016. Over her two-year career, she has compiled 519 points, 237 rebounds, 111 assists and 103 steals as a Crusader.

Mifsud, who earned third-team All-Patriot League honors last season, has played in 27 games with 25 starts in 2015-2016. She has averaged 12.1 points and 4.2 assists per game this season, while shooting 36.5 percent from the field (109-299) and 36.9 percent from behind the arc (55-149). Mifsud ranks second in the Patriot League in assists per game (98th in NCAA) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.7), while she stands fourth in three-pointers made per game (2.0) and 10th in points per game and three-point percentage.

She has led Holy Cross in assists during 21 games this season, while she was the leading scorer in 10 contests in 2015-2016. Over her four-year career, Mifsud has accumulated 1,093 points, 357 assists, 230 rebounds and 107 steals as a Crusader. She ranks sixth in Holy Cross history in three-pointers made (157) and 24th in total points.

Hourigan has started in all 29 games this season and has averaged 9.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per contest, while shooting a team-high 49.8 percent from the field (109-219). In Patriot League action, she averaged 9.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. Hourigan ranks second in the Patriot League in field-goal percentage, third in blocks per game (24th in NCAA), fourth in total rebounding (79th in NCAA) and 21st in points per contest. 

She has led Holy Cross in blocked shots in 24 games this season, while she has been the leading rebounder in 18 contests in 2015-2016. Hourigan also leads Holy Cross with seven double-doubles this season. Over her four-year career, Hourigan has recorded 706 points, 689 rebounds, 253 blocks and 117 assists as a Crusader. She ranks second in Holy Cross history in total career blocks.

In its next contest, No. 5 Holy Cross (13-16, 10-8 Patriot League) will travel to No. 4 Lehigh in the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals on Monday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
