  • The Lead: Four Crusaders scored in double figures, as Holy Cross took a narrow defeat in overtime at Bryant on Monday night in Smithfield, R.I.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Junior guard Infiniti Thomas-Waheed led the Crusaders with 23 points, and registered four steals with three rebounds.
  • Freshman forward Lauren Manis (15), junior guard Katie Doherty (10) and freshman guard Madalyn Smith (12) also scored in double figures.
  • Manis registered a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Alex Klein registered a double-double for the Bulldogs with 26 points and 18 rebounds.
  • Ivory Bailey also earned a double-double for Bryant with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Bulldogs grabbed control of the game early, jumping out to a 14-9 lead early on in the first quarter.
  • Bryant extended its lead to 10, taking a 21-11 advantage before the end of the first quarter.
  • The Crusaders battled back in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to six points at the halfway mark of second.
  • Holy Cross held the Bulldogs to eight points in the second quarter, as Bryant took a 29-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.
  • Bryant would hold onto a narrow lead into the fourth quarter, as Holy Cross outscored the Bulldogs 24-22 in the third quarter.
  • Eight different Crusaders registered field goals in the third quarter.
  • Holy Cross took the lead in dramatic fashion in the fourth quarter, as Smith and freshman guard Nicole Morris drained back-to-back three pointers to put the Crusaders up 55-51 with 8:21 remaining.
  • After Bryant regained the lead, Smith hit another shot from behind the arc to tie the game at 62 with 2:26 remaining.
  • Holy Cross had the ball with 28 seconds remaining as the score was tied at 67, but they could not pull ahead before the buzzer.
  • With Bryant ahead 74-71, Thomas-Waheed earned a layup and drew a foul to tie the game up with under two minutes to play in overtime.
  • The Bulldogs would get the go-ahead basket on a jumper with 11 seconds remaining, sealing the 76-74 final score.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Thomas-Waheed's 23 points are a new career-high.
  • Manis registered a double-double for the second-straight game.
  • This was the first time four Crusaders scored in double figures since Feb. 3, 2016 against Colgate.
