  • The Lead: Junior forward Maureen Connolly scored for the Crusaders, but Holy Cross fell to Boston University in its final Patriot League game of the season in Boston.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Connolly put the Crusaders on the board in the 17th minute of play, as she received a pass from freshman midfielder Madeline Alderfer up the sideline and found the back of the net to give Holy Cross a 1-0 lead.
  • Kara Enoch tied the game up for Boston University in the 25th minute, as she scored after coming up with a rebound in front of the net.
  • Ten minutes later, the Terriers took a 2-1 lead as Hester van der Laan scored with a shot from the top of the circle off a penalty corner, giving Boston University a 2-1 lead heading into the half.
  • With 28 minutes remaining in the second half on Friday, the game was postponed due to weather. Play resumed on Tuesday afternoon in Boston.
  • In the 56th minute of play, Kara Enoch scored with a tip off a penalty corner to put the Terriers up 3-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Freshman goalkeeper Marcia LaPlante made nine saves in the loss for the Crusaders.
  • Shots on goal were 12-1 Boston University.

THE TURNPIKE TROPHY

  • Boston University now has a 2-0 lead in the Turnpike Trophy standings with today's win over Holy Cross.
  • Van der Laan was named the MVP after notching a goal and an assist for the Terriers.
  • The next game in the series will take place tomorrow, October 26, as the Holy Cross men's soccer team hosts the Terriers at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at the Luth Athletic Complex at 7:05 p.m.
