Men's Track & Field Begins Patriot League Outdoor Championship Action

THE BASICS

The Lead: The 4 x 800 meter relay team led the Holy Cross men's track and field team in the first day of competition at the 2015 Patriot League Outdoor Championship on Friday at Army West Point with a third-place finish and time of 7:35.01. The team was comprised of sophomore Michael Andre (Feeding Hills, Mass.), senior co-captain Trevor Dutton (Burlington, Mass.) and juniors Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) and Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.). 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Junior Kalif Raymond (Lawrenceville, Georgia) led the Crusaders on the track with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash to qualify for tomorrow's final heat with a time of 11.00 seconds. Senior Jereme Murray (State College, Pa.) followed Raymond in eighth with a career-best time of 11.24 seconds. 
  • In the 10,000-meter run, sophomore Matt Greco (Eagleville,  Pa.) represented the Crusaders as he finished 15th with a career-best time of 32:33.99, while sophomore William Raven (Newburyport, Mass.) finished 13th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.06 seconds. 
  • In the field events, sophomore Fletcher Bonin (Portsmouth, R.I.) finished 20th in the long jump as he cleared a distance of 5.70 meters. 
  • Sophomore Kyle Quinn (North Andover, Mass.) represented Holy Cross in the decathlon as he took eighth in the 100-meter (11.82) and shot put (10.09), fifth in the 400-meter (career-best, 52.45), tied for seventh in the high jump (1.70m) and ninth in the long jump (5.42m). 
  • At the end of day one, Quinn is currently in eighth overall with 2,892 points. 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE

  • Navy is currently in first at the end of day one with a team score of 89.50 points. 

UP NEXT 

  • The Crusaders return to the track tomorrow, May 2, for the second and final day of the Patriot League Outdoor Championship at 9:00 a.m.
