Baseball To Hold ALS Awareness Game On April 22

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross baseball team will host an ALS Awareness Game on Wednesday, April 22 when it takes on Siena at 5:00 p.m. at Fitton Field. The Crusaders will wear commemorative red hats in honor of Pete Frates, a 30-year-old former captain of Boston College baseball team, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

"We are honored to compete, while wearing these commemorative hats in recognition of Pete Frates and the Pete Frates #3 Fund," said Holy Cross head baseball coach Greg DiCenzo. "Pete has always exemplified the true meaning of strength, perseverance and friendship, and we could not be more humbled to join his fight in some small capacity."

The red hats can be purchased by the public at the game on April 22 for a minimum donation of $50, with all proceeds being donated to the Pete Frates #3 Fund. For more information about the Pete Frates #3 Fund, click here
