HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It did not take Holy Cross long to get its offense kick started as Panarelli gave the Crusaders an early 1-0 lead just four minutes into the period with her fifth goal of the season (3:23). The goal was assisted by freshman Kara Violette (Biddeford, Maine) and senior Mary Klimasewiski (Conchester, Conn.).
  • 29 seconds later, the Crusaders struck again, this time on a goal by senior Nicole Giannino (Bay Shore, N.Y.), her 10th of the season (3:52) and was assisted by senior Meaghan Sullivan (Brockton, Mass.). UMass Boston went on the power-play with a little over three minutes remaining in the stanza, but were unable to connect as Holy Cross entered the locker room with a comfortable 2-0 lead going in the second.
  • The Crusaders carried their offensive attack on the Beacons into the second period as the puck landed past the reach of UMass Boston goalie Kailyn Burke two more times.
  • Holy Cross gained the three-goal advantage (4:06) with the help of Schneider as the unassisted goal was her first goal of the year.
  • The second Holy Cross goal of the period came from senior Kate Reilly (Natick, Mass.) with the assists credited to Hall and Panarelli, giving the Crusaders the comfortable 4-0 lead (13:21).
  • Entering the third period, Holy Cross was outshooting UMass Boston 19-16.
  • Hall's first goal of the season came four minutes into the third stanza (4:09) with the assists credited to junior Mackenzie Boardman (Anchorage, Alaska) and Panarelli, her second of the game, putting the Crusaders up 5-0.
  • With the Beacons unable to get the puck past senior goalie Alexandra Stevenson (Norwood, N.Y.), the Crusaders were able to seal the 5-0 victory and improved their record to 13-6-3.
