Moore (Edina, Minn.) each scored a goal for the Crusaders, while sophomore goalie Paul Berrafato (Williamsville, N.Y.) posted his first collegiate shutout as the Holy Cross men's hockey team defeated American International, 3-0, on Tuesday night at the Hart Center in Atlantic Hockey action. The Crusaders have won five of their last seven games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • At 10:04 in the first period, Lubanski scored a shorthanded goal after senior Castan Sommer (Shrewsbury, Mass.) blasted the puck at the goal. AIC goalie Alex Murray blocked the shot, sending the puck in Lubanski's direction. He controlled the puck and sent a wrist shot into the back of the net, making the score 1-0.
  • In the first period, the Crusaders outshot the Yellow Jackets 10-5 and the Yellow Jackets went 0-2 on the power play.
  • At 6:04 in the second period, Sommer fired another shot off a pass from senior defenseman Karl Beckman (Okemos, Mich.) which was stopped by Murray. Pooley got his stick on the rebound and snuck the puck into the back of the net with a backhander on Murray's stick side.
  • With two minutes left in the second period, Andrew DeBrincat fired a shot at Berrafato who lunged forward and grabbed the puck out of the air.
  • The Crusaders outshot the Yellow Jackets 13-10 in the second period. Berrafato had 10 saves and Murray had 12.
  • Moore received a pass from freshman Spencer Trapp (White City, Saskatchewan) at 10:36 of the third period and brought the puck up the ice, dodging a defender and placing the puck above Murray's glove side shoulder and into the back of the net, making the score 3-0.
  • The Crusaders were able to keep the Yellow Jackets off the scoreboard to earn the 3-0 shutout win.
