HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Holy Cross jumped out to the early 4-0 lead (17:40) off a pair of jumpers by Scott. Bryant, however, responded on an 11-7 rally over the next 4:03 to tie the game at 11-11 (13:37). After the two teams traded baskets, the Bulldogs embarked on an 11-2 surge to gain the 24-15 lead at the 8:30-mark of the first half.
  • The Crusaders countered with an 11-3 run over the next 4:14 to cut the deficit to one point (27-26) with 4:16 on the clock. Holy Cross freshman guard Katie Doherty (Holbrook, N.Y.) scored seven points during the spurt. Bryant went back up by three points (29-26) less than two minutes later, but a layup by Scott and two free throws by freshman guard Infiniti Thomas-Waheed (Newton, Mass.) gave the Crusaders the 31-29 lead (1:00).
  • The Bulldogs tied the game with 47 seconds left in the stanza and connected on a jumper as time expired to head into the locker room with the 33-31 edge.
  • Holy Cross began the second half on a 6-3 run, with Scott scoring all six points during the rally to help the Crusaders earn the 37-36 lead (17:07). Bryant scored four straight points, but the Crusaders answered with a 5-0 spurt to go ahead 42-40 (12:43).
  • The Bulldogs tied the game at 42-42 on the next possession, but Holy Cross answered with five straight to grab the 47-42 lead (10:52). Bryant countered with an 8-2 rally over the next 90 seconds to snatch the lead back (50-49) at the 9:22-mark of the second half.
  • Holy Cross went up by three a trio of times over the next three minutes, but the Bulldogs tied the game at 57-57 with 5:20 left in regulation. With the Crusaders on top by two points (61-59) at the 3:24-mark, Bryant scored seven in a row, including two three-pointers to earn the 66-61 advantage with 1:46 on the clock.
  • The Crusaders cut the deficit to two points (68-66) on the back of a junior guard Lisa Mifsud (Erie, Pa.) three pointer (1:06), but the Bulldogs iced the game going 6-of-8 from the free throw line to make the score its final, 74-68.
