THE BASICS
Score: Connecticut College 4, Holy Cross 1
Records: Holy Cross (7-2-1) ; Connecticut College (3-0-2)
Location: Hart Center (Worcester, Mass.)
The Lead:  Connecticut College's Ashley Anctil and Lily Connolly each scored as Stephanie Izzi scored two goals as the Crusaders fell to the Camels, 4-1 on Tuesday night at the Hart Center in non-conference women's hockey action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 15 seconds into the Holy Cross power-play, Connecticut College's Amanda Bogue got tripped up by a Holy Cross defender and passed the puck up the left side to Michaela Igo. Igo crossed the pass to Lily Connolly in front of the net where she was able to find an opening and shot it past the reach of senior goalie Alexandra Stevenson (Norwood, N.Y.), giving the Camels the 1-0 lead in the first period (1.1:49).
  • Holy Cross got on the board eight minutes into the second period on a Connecticut College power-play. Freshman Kara Violette (Biddeford, Maine) crossed the puck from the right side to find senior captain Francesca Panarelli (Shrewsbury, Mass.) open down the middle, launching a wrist shot towards the net as the puck was deflected off of junior Mackenzie Boardman (Anchorage, Alaska) and past Connecticut College goalie Kelsie Fralick, tying the game at 1-1 (7:37).
  • The Camels took advantage of the Crusaders' second power play of the second period. On a pass from Igo to Connolly, Connolly crossed puck to Stephanie Izzi. With a deflection off of a Camels' skater, the puck then deflected off Izzi's stick and past the dive of Stevenson, putting the Camels up 2-1 (10:07).
  • The third period saw Connecticut College gain momentum and showed no signs of slowing down. Deep in Camel's territory, Cassie Hunter gave the puck to Ashley Anctil as Anctil drove up the middle as her wrist shot found the back of the net and past Stevenson, putting the Camels up two goals at 3-1 (13:41).
  • Izzi scored her second goal of the game on an unassisted goal on an empty net with 32 seconds left in regulation, sealing Connecticut College's 4-1 victory over Holy Cross.
