WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Molly Montgomery (Winnetka, Ill.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 5-11. Montgomery helped lead the Holy Cross women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over Smith in its only match last week.

During Saturday's victory over the Pioneers, Montgomery teamed with freshman Taylor Stathis (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) at No. 1 doubles to defeat Gianna Teague and Jorden Dubin 8-5. Then in the No. 1 singles match, she downed Teague in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

On the season, Montgomery now has an overall record of 3-5 at No. 1 singles, in addition to posting a 6-5 mark in doubles action.

Holy Cross (8-1 overall) returns to action next Tuesday, March 20, when it travels to Stonehill for a 3:00 p.m. match.
